'Kalybos in China' movie to be premiered this weekend in London!

Kofas Media in collaboration with God's solution center,UK brings to the Kalybos in china movie premier in London.

The has been premiered in nearly all the big cities i the country and now it is time for those in London!

On Saturday 20th June  and Sunday 21st June 2015 at the 3rd floor 777 Old Kent Road SE15 1NZ at exactly 6:00 pm sharp each night.

Ticket are £15 for Regular and £25 for VIP.

A source close to Ghbase.com has disclosed that the celebrated comic actor, Richard Asante, popularly known as Kalybos was arrested in China some weeks ago for breaking one of their laws.

The source said he was taken to the police station where his offence was made known to him. But then, he was not the only one arrested, his manager and producer for the Boys Kasa skits was also arrested for the same offence.

Ghbase.com placed a phone call to Kofi Asamoah, who doubles as manager and producer of Kalybos and he confirmed the arrest. "Yes, it’s indeed true, we never expected this piece of news to be exposed like this, but then, the good news is that, it was not for any criminal offence like stealing or anything.”

He further revealed: "You know we’ve shot our first ever movie and we shot some of the scenes in China, and it was during one of our shots at a particular location, that Kalybos and I got arrested.

"Our offence was that, we did not have an escort and per the regulations they have for visitors, we had not taken the necessary action. We had the permit to shoot alright, but there was a festival ongoing at this particular location and we wanted to shoot something with it, and that was when the police came in simply because we did not have a Chinese escort.”

Ghbase.com also asked him if Kalybos was kept in cells and he said they were released after some few minutes of explaining everything to the police.

Kofi Asamoah further mentioned "it will be interesting to know that, the Chinese people loved Kalybos and we are sealing a deal there anytime very soon."

Kalybos’s first ever movie “Kalybos In China” which was shot in Dubai, China and Ghana is set to be premiered on April 3, 2015 at the Silverbird Cinemas.

Kofi Asamoah’s upcoming production, ‘Kalybos in China’, is nearing its official release.


Ahead of what promises to be an exciting full feature debut, the producers, KOFAS Media, have released the title’s official poster, announcing the premiere date.

Shot on location in China and Ghana and starring Richard Asante (Kalybos), Priscilla Agyemang (Ahuof3 Patri), Christabel Ekeh, David Dontoh, Mikki Osei Berko, Nikki Samonas, and John Dumelo among a host of others, it makes its first cinema opening at the Accra Mall and West Hills Mall on 3 April.

Young Ghanaian actor Richard Asante, more commonly known as Kalybos, is an inspiring YouTube comedy superstar whose rise to fame is an exciting Ghanaian story to tell.

The thrilling comedian and actor was recognised and named Discovery of the Year at the Ghana Movie Awards ceremony held on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at the Accra International Conference Center.

The "Only Boss" with one ‘S’, rose to fame through his popular free-for-downloads comedy skits dubbed the ‘Boys Kasa Series.’

These series include Kalybos goes to Brazil, The Fat Bill, the Good Samaritan, One Bottle, Tweaa and The Pharmacy Wahala.

In his acceptance speech, Kalybos who shared the moment with the delectable Ahuof3 Patri whom he went on stage with, said he was grateful to God for his “mercies” and to Ghanaians for their support.

“We didn’t know it would get us on this stage tonight and we are grateful” he noted as he thanked his fans who watched and shared his YouTube viral videos.

Asante in an earlier interview with Starr Entertainment said he was awestruck by the fame he now enjoys on the Ghanaian comedy scene.

“I never knew it could get to this level. For the start we were doing it for free and we didn’t know it was good work and that people would appreciate it…”

A second year student studying ‘Cinematography’ at NAFTI, the natural born comedian said he developed interest in acting when he worked for movie producer, Shirley Frimpong Manso and her Sparrow Productions.

Kalybos on stage, also thanked movie producer Kofi Asamoah whom he said encouraged him to start acting the series.

The YouTube star currently has more than thirteen videos to his credit and has many more recorded and yet to be released.

The Ghana Movie Awards ceremony was well attended by movie lovers, industry players and favorite screen gems including Nigeria’s Patience Ozorkwo, Majid Michel, Jackie Appiah, John Dumelo, Super OD, Nikki Samonas, Eddie Watson, David Dontoh, Yvonne Nelson, Sandrah Ankobia, Lydia Forson, Juliet Ibrahim, D-Black and Kwaku Manu.

Other recipients on the night are film producer and director Shirley Frimpong Manso, Kumawood stars Kwadwo Nkansah aka Lilwin and Rose Mensah aka Kyeiwaa, Screen Goddess Joselyn Dumas, rapper turned film producer Desmond Blackmore.
